Isn’t it a good kind of strange that flowers bloom despite of scorching heat!

 It inspires me to get going even during the days full of obstacles and difficulties. I have always believed that hurdles make us stronger and bring fruitful outcomes. Nature inspires us to look around and observe the beauty, not just scenic beauty but also beauty of life. It tries to inspire us at every step of life. Keeping this in mind I got a dress from Chumbak with prints showcasing flowers and dream catchers. The dress is a perfect blend of dark base with bright print. It can be worn during summers as well as during winters, daytime and evenings, casual and parties. 

So when things start falling apart and nothing seems right just remember best things are grown out of hardships. 

My clothes are always inspired by something that has value attached to it, it speaks out what kind of person I am. I want all of you to look around yourself and observe before you feel like giving up!

I got this mustard cold shoulder top from a very famous street shopping place in Delhi called Sarojini Nagar for just ₹300

It is a cool fabric which doesn’t stick to your skin during scorching heat and the cold shoulder sleeves are a big yes for all who want to make their everyday look glamorous.

This can be worn with shorts, jeans, pants. And to add the extra element to this top you can add bohemian jewelry. I prefer it wearing this top with dark coloured jeans and shorts.

Nostalgia – Throwback To The Childhood Days

We often forget the naughty kid inside all of us, who is carefree and crazy. Those days were full of innocence and happiness. As a kid, my favourite thing to do was make weird faces and run around here and there. And my favourite outfit was a pair of denim dungarees and cartoon prints.

The launch of Only’s new Garfield collection made me nostalgic and I thought of bringing back the look from my childhood. In this look, I am going to show the glimpses of the way I used to dress up when I was a kid and along with that how to style Only’s top from Garfield collection.

I am wearing a blue crop top with printed Garfield moods. I relate to this top because just like Garfield I am a moody person. This top can be worn for the everyday casual look. It is priced at 1299/- and can be found at Only stores nearby and online as well.

Summers bring dryness, dehydration and scorching heat with them, so it becomes mandatory to take proper care of ourselves. Following are some of the tips to beat the summer heat –

Stay Hydrated

Why is it important?

During summers we sweat more and water loss increases, so it is essential for us to stay hydrated. If we ignore this we often end up feeling dehydrated, exhausted and sick.

What to drink?

We must drink at least 8 glasses of water in a day. Along with that we must drink juices which give us nutrients and energy like apple, carrot, beetroot and watermelon juice. Consumption of buttermilk commonly known as chaas is also beneficial as it replenishes fluid and electrolyte level in the body. Another important drink is detox water which helps in removing toxins from the body and helps in hydration.

When to drink?

Make sure you drink maximum water before late evening because the majority of water is lost during the daytime. Do not drink a lot of water in one go, instead keep on sipping water throughout the day. For a change, you can also replace regular water with detox water.

What is my schedule?

8:00 AM – 1:00 PM – 4 glasses of water (3 regular, 1 glass of juice and 1 detox water) I prefer having watermelon, beetroot, carrot and apple juice.

1:00 PM – 5:00 PM – 2 glasses of water

5:00 PM – 8:00 PM – 2  glasses of water

8:00 PM – 11:00 PM – 1 glass of water


Apply Sunscreen 

Why is it important?

It is essential throughout the year but the usage is increased during summers due to harsh sunlight and heat. It prevents our skin from harmful damage caused by UVA and UVB rays. UVB rays lead to sunburn while UVA leads to premature aging.

How to apply?

Apply it after cleansing and toning. I apply it after cleansing, toning, and blemish treatment cream and before applying makeup.

When to apply?

Apply sunscreen half an hour before heading out in the morning, and keep on reapplying as per the need. Usually, sunscreens stay for approximately 6 hours indoors and 2-3 hours when outdoors.

Which sunscreen to buy?

For oily skin – Go for matte or gel-based sunscreens.

For dry skin – Go for creamy based sunscreens.

For normal skin, any of the above can be used.

Protect Your Eyes

Why is it important?

In summers the sunlight becomes harsh and UVA and UVB rays not only harm our skin but also our eyes as they lead to the acceleration of cataracts.

What to do?

We must protect our eyes by wearing good sunglasses, investing in proper sunglasses helps prevent eyes from harmful UV rays.

Eat Right

Why is it important?

Heavy and oily meals tend to drain our energy making us feel more exhausted and dehydrated during summer.

What to eat?

So we must eat light during summers, meals packed with minerals, water and nutrients. More salads, fruits, curd, oats and anything with less oil.

What I eat?

Breakfast – Poha/upma/eggs/bowl of cereal/Fruits & oats

Lunch – Idli/Vada/Dosa/Brown Rice/Oat Chillas/ Salad with oatmeal bread loaf/ Green vegetables with chapati

Dinner – Uttapam/Oats with milk/ Salad/Pancakes/Soup and oat bread
