Liner & Lip Colour Duo For Summers!

Pinks, peaches and bright colours make their way in our makeup stash during summers. It’s time to experiment with different lip colours.

I thought of sharing with you a perfect lip liner and lipstick duo from drugstore brand. The lip liner is by Colorbar in shade Cocktail Peach 009 and liquid lipstick by Chambor Extreme Wear in shade 461. They both have similar pinkish peach shades. They are suitable for both day & night time, for day a single coat is required and for night double coat.
Colorbar Cocktail Peach 009 – It retails for ₹599

  • Glides smoothly on lips
  • Comes with a sharpner above
  • Long lasting
  • Affordable
  • Matte look

  • Drying

Chambor Extreme Wear Transferproof Liquid Lipstick 641 – It retails for ₹845

  • Long lasting
  • Matte
  • Variety of shades available
  • As the name suggests (transferproof)
  • Full coverage
  • Super pigmented
  • Easy to apply applicator

  •  Drying

Both the products are worth the price and they are long lasting, they deliver what they claim. The only miss in both formulation is dryness they impart. If you want to apply this, it is mandatory to moisturise your lips well so that they don’t feel drying. If you do so they are worth buying. Love the range of colours they come in.

My rating for both the products is 4/5

Mission – “Stay Fit”

“The one who stays fit rules the world”, is my take on life. Staying fit is as important as breathing, but how many of us pay heed to it. I am one of the laziest person on the planet, still I ensure to stay fit. Because it not only keeps me healthy but also keeps me energetic throughout the day.

Staying fit isn’t as hard as it seems from outside, the most important thing required to stay fit is the strong determination. Easiest things one can do to stay fit are:

  1. Drink plenty of water- I assure that I drink atleast 3 litres of water daily. And along with water I ensure to have detox water, juice (with low carbs) and chia seed water. I am a lazy person so if you ask me to drink water from the bottle I would even show laziness in that by drinking just one sip. In order to overcome this I switched to sipper and that really helped and increased my water intake.
  2. Eat salad as a meal once in a day- Eating a bowl of salad in a day is like eating a bowl full of nutrients. Vegetables provide nutrients and is low on fat and calories. I saw the difference when I replaced one meal of the day with a bowl of salad. I prefer eating – Chicken Ceaser Salad, Greek Vegetable Salad, Walnut, Orange & Beetroot Salad, Grilled Cottage Cheese Salad. If there is less availability of time and ingredients than make basic salad for yourself by adding freshly cut cucumbers, tomatoes, cottage cheese, iceberg lettuce, zucchini, bell peppers & grated cheese with pepper.
  3. Exercise daily – Only controlling diet helps but to a limited extent – body needs physical activity. If you can’t go to the gym atleast go for jogging and walking. Make it a habit of taking stairs wherever and whenever you can. There are lot of days when I have to skip the gym due to work or something but I ensure that I jog and walk daily. If you have a cycle than cycling is the best thing to stay fit. I use an app called Runkeeper which helps me to keep a track of calories burnt anf workout done.
  4. Cut Sugar/ Sweets from your diet – I am a sweettooth, but when I analyzed how sugar/sweets are adding to my body weight I took the hard decision of cutting them out 90% from my life. I don’t take sugar in any of my beverages neither do I eat any sweets, the only intake of sugar in my body happens via three biscuits that I consume daily. Sugar has a lot of calories so I try my best to avoid it, but sometimes when I am with family or friends their love leads me to tremendous intake of sugar or sweets. In situations like this I ensure to burn my calories twice than the regular and workout more rigorously.
  5. Eat small quantity of meals throughout the day – It is essential as it keeps the metabolism intact, helps in stopping hunger pangs and maintains blood sugar level.

So go ahead follow these small and easy tips and start your journey towards being fit and healthy!

My Bath Regime This Summer!

A bath regime must include four things – Shower Gel, Body Scrub, Body Lotion and Body Mist/ Eau De Cologne. I have always relied on one brand to complete my bath regime and that is – The Body Shop. They are 100% vegan and free from cruelty.

I have tried many drugstore shower gels but they were very harsh on my skin and contain parabens, that was the time I decided to go for The Body Shop. It is very essential for me to take bath with a shower gel that keeps me refreshed throughout the day. According to me shower gels must be mild, cleansing and should have a good natural fragrance.  I have tried their Satsuma, Strawberry, British rose range and now I switched to Fuji Green Tea range.

  • This range is formulated with antioxidant green tea from Japan which refreshes and detoxifies skin.
  • The shower gel is mild and with a refreshing mild green tea fragrance which is perfect for summers. I love the fragrance of this range.
  • It can be used with a loofah for gentle exfoliation, I use the same.
  • It has transparent plastic packaging with a black lid at the top.
  • It is a soap-free formulation.
  • 250ml shower gel retails for Rs 345/-.

I am a firm believer of layering with the same range because by doing so the fragrance persists. Next, I use The Body Shop Fuji Green Tea replenishing gel lotion.

  • It has the similar mild refreshing fragrance as of shower gel and the smooth texture helps in moisturizing my skin in just one go.
  • It has a mild formulation which is perfect for skin during summers.
  • The packaging of a lotion is user-friendly as it has a pump on top of it which comes with a lid preventing the lotion from reacting with the environmental conditions.
  • 250ml body lotion retails for Rs 575/-

After applying body lotion I use The Body Shop Fuji Green Tea Eau De Cologne, it completes my blissful bath regime. It is light and wearable.100 ml of Eau De Cologne retails for Rs 1295/-.

  • As the other products in the range, it is mild and wearable.
  • 100 ml of Eau De Cologne retails for Rs 1295/-.

After layering my skin with these three, it feels so refreshing and detoxifying which gets me going through the scorching heat of Delhi. I do apply Eau De Cologne once again in the middle of the day to keep up the fragrance. The best part about The Body Shop is they have a lot of ongoing discounts throughout the year, even now mother’s day discount is there which is 25% off on purchase of any 4 products and 30% off on purchase of any 5 products.

To me Fuji Green Tea Range of The Body Shop is a big yes, I am really happy with how

  • They make my bath experience so refreshing, detoxifying and rejuvenating.
  • Their cute green packaging is like an icing on the cake.
  • Their sizes are good enough to last a season, so definitely they are worth buying.

Go ahead and buy this amazing range from the stores near you or you can also buy this online from their official website. Click here to buy!

P.S. I use body scrub as well but due to a minor skin issue my doctor advised not to exfoliate my body with body scrubs for a couple of months, that is the reason I go for mild exfoliation with the loofah and shower gel.

Summers Are All About Experimenting With Clothes!

My fashion advice is – “Experiment with the clothes in your wardrobe”! You never know, you might find an amazing outfit during the experimentation. These summers I thought to do the same.

Summers are associated with wearing cool and pastel shades! It is more of “mix and match” for me during summers. It is something I can relate to as I am a person who loves to experiment not only with clothes but also at every point in life.

Layering is an ongoing trend, so I thought of trying something with it. I layered my long Kurti by Fabindia with a long shrug from Max and completed the look by pairing it with black heels by Allen Solly. I am a person who believes in multiple usages of an outfit, that is the reason I wore Kurti as a dress. The benefit with Fabindia Kurtis is that they don’t have a slit so they can be worn as dresses. My complete look has just two colours – Black & white.

Cold Shoulder Tops Are My To Go Outfits This Summer!

When it comes to wearing outfits during summer days, I always prefer something which gives me comfort. The latest trend these days is cold shoulder tops, and I can’t stop raving about them. My wardrobe is flooding with cold shoulder tops, I wear them almost every day.

This look is inspired from the sunny happy days of my life, it is more about being happy and comfortable beating heat waves this summer.

I got this mustard cold shoulder top from a very famous street shopping place in Delhi called Sarojini Nagar for just ₹300

It is a cool fabric which doesn’t stick to your skin during scorching heat and the cold shoulder sleeves are a big yes for all who want to make their everyday look glamorous.

This can be worn with shorts, jeans, pants. And to add the extra element to this top you can add bohemian jewelry. I prefer it wearing this top with dark coloured jeans and shorts.

In specific cold shoulder tops add glamour to your everyday look so when you have to go out and you don’t want to do much with your outfit, you can go for wearing cold shoulder top and you will have it. If you are worried about the stay of sleeves and comfort trust me they stay well just ensure you buy the right size for yourself and you are good to go.

So stop waiting and go own a cold shoulder top in your wardrobe this summer. You can buy them online, street shops and shopping malls.

“Speak Up”, I Am Listening!

“Life is going to be fine”, is what everyone tells us while we go through a rough patch in life – how many of you agree to that?

I do! Even I have told this to people couple of times.

But the truth is when a person goes through a rough patch they want, someone to listen before bombarding them with the generic statement like – “Life is going to be fine”. I did not realize this until I was at the receiving end.

There came a time in my life when my world fell apart and nothing seemed right. I would talk to people and they would advise me but that would bring no improvement. Gradually I started sinking into the pool of sadness. I cut myself out from everyone, even the near and dear ones. The feeling of worthlessness started creeping inside me with the passage of days. And it was unending, I felt exhausted throughout.

While reading something on the internet I came across an article about depression, I started researching more and I took help. During this experience, all I realized was that I just wanted to speak what was in my heart to someone who would listen to me. It was a bliss. I made myself my priority, started doing things I love, started connecting to my inner self by meditation.

And since then there is no looking back. If sometimes I feel a bit tensed I make it a point to talk to a close one in my life and speak up, I make them listen. Also whenever I see someone around who is sad, I approach them and ask them to speak up. Because it is important to speak what we feel, that lessens some of the burdens we carry.

This year World Health Organization chose the theme “depression” on – World Health Day – “Let’s Talk”! It is a great step in making the world realize that they must listen as well as speak. Depression is something which is very common these days and we must all pledge to curb it by simply “listening” and “speaking”.

I am always there for the people who want to speak – “Speak up – I am listening”
